Dlamini, while working in the media was nominated in 2011, as the best investigative journalist in the media awards after exposing E7million fraud within the then the Swaziland Post and Telecommunication Corporation (SPTC) where senior officials colluded to defraud government in customs duties.
The Director was once attached to Amabhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism in South Africa where he was trained on evidence analyses and presenting an investigative story.
Dlamini, in his capacity as a journalist, worked with various international companies including Mestrokia Film Productions, the Brazilian company that conducted research on the Umhlanga Reed Dance. The film was later broadcasted in various TV channels in South America. But in 2017, Dlamini was forced into exile after receiving information that the then powerful businessman Victor Gamedze, Prime Minister Barnabas Dlamini and Police Commissioner Isaac Magagula were seeking to arrest and later kill him in prison.
Magagula later confirmed in the newspapers that Dlamini was indeed wanted by the police in connection with a story he published in Swaziland Shopping. In October 2018, Dlamini returned to his home country after the then PM Barnabas Dlamini and the powerful businessman Victor Gamedze died.
In March 2019, Dlamini was interviewed by the SABC, to check if he was safe in Swaziland and it transpired that the political situation was better for him to remain in the country.
